“For me, beauty lies in insubordination”. With Mailles, the choreographer, singer and author Dorothée Munyaneza created a dance and vocal performance for seven female African or of African descent artists. Each of their voices and bodies tells a unique story of journey, commitment and strength. The artists on stage boldly and freely manifest the memory of their origins. Munyaneza weaves these stories together and creates a symphony of voices. In collaboration with artist and designer Stéphanie Coudert, costume and fabric provide a common thread on stage and interrogate feminity and freedom of the body.
